Hi everyone! It’s November! The start of the holiday season aka sweets season. If you're new to my blog I need to tell you that cake is a weakness for me. Chocolate particularly. So when I was stuck on what to make for my dad for his birthday while also being on a budget I thought, “cake pops from the cake I have in my fridge. That could work.”
So without further or do, the recipe.
What you will need:
— left over cake
— frosting or melted butter cooled (the glue that keeps it together)
— lollipop sticks
— 1 cup of white chocolate
— 1/3 cup of dark chocolate
**Depending on how much cake you have you’ll want to kind of start slow with the frosting or butter. I had half of a large bundt cake and used a table spoon of frosting to keep it all together.
Put your cake into a food processor and pulse until it’s almost like crumbs. Then add your “glue” and pulse until fully combined. Now take a spoon, take a scoop out, and roll it into a ball until you’re happy with the shape and set it on a baking sheet. Do this with the rest of the cake and put them in the fridge to cool for about an hour.
After that hour is over, take your pops out, and put the lollipop sticks into the middle of the ball. Now you’re going to melt the white chocolate in the microwave for about a minute, take out, and stir until smooth. Next, take your pops and spoon and cover that thing in all the chocolate. At this point if you want sprinkles you can add those before the chocolate dries.
Finally, you’ll melt the dark chocolate for a minute, take out, and stir until smooth. Now you’ll want to take it and drizzle it all over until you’re happy with the outcome.
And there you go! Enjoy!
